About jorefuo

Quantitative thinking,
taught without
the theatrics.

Founded in Dublin in 2021, jorefuo started with a straightforward observation: most machine learning courses either oversimplify the maths or bury learners in notation before they've seen a real dataset. Neither approach produces people who can actually use the tools. This platform exists to close that gap, one structured lecture at a time.

What we actually do

Structured lectures,
not a content library.

Each course on jorefuo follows a deliberate sequence. Concepts build on each other rather than sitting as isolated videos you can watch in any order. Statistical foundations come before model selection. Model selection comes before interpretation. Interpretation comes before deployment thinking. That order is not arbitrary - it reflects how practitioners actually develop competence.

The focus stays on quantitative analysis and machine learning applied to real decision problems. Regression, classification, time-series methods, and the probability theory that makes them interpretable. No detours into adjacent topics just to inflate a course catalogue.

Sequential delivery

Lectures unlock in order. Each session assumes the previous one, which forces a pace that actually sticks.

Local context

Examples reference Irish datasets, public sector data, and regional economic patterns where relevant - not generic US market proxies.

Maths made legible

Notation is introduced when it earns its place, explained in plain language first, then formalised. Derivations are shown, not hidden.

Dublin-based support

Questions reach a team at 46 Manor Rd, Redcowfarm - not a support queue routed through three time zones.

Lecture design and curriculum lead at jorefuo

Fionnuala Drennan

Curriculum Lead

Spent eight years working in statistical modelling for a Dublin financial services firm before moving into education. Designs the lecture sequences and decides what gets cut when a topic runs too long.

Machine learning instructor at jorefuo

Oisín Ó Treasaigh

ML Instructor

Researched gradient-based optimisation methods at UCD and has been teaching quantitative methods to working professionals since 2019. Prefers worked examples over slide decks, which shapes the entire delivery format.

Platform and learner experience at jorefuo

Caoimhe Ní Bhriain

Learner Experience

Handles how content reaches learners - pacing, accessibility, and the feedback loop that shapes future lectures. Runs the support inbox at help@jorefuo.com and takes the questions seriously.

How decisions get made

Courses added slowly, on purpose.

Adding a new course to jorefuo takes longer than it probably should. The sequence gets mapped out before a single lecture is recorded, reviewed against what learners actually get stuck on, and revised at least twice before it goes live. The result is a smaller catalogue than some platforms - and one where every course has a clear reason to exist.
